Langkawi 2009 :: Day3nd

::15th November 2009::
As expected from a drunkard night yesterday. Everyone of us barely able to woke up early. Mingled on our comfy beds for a while before getting up for the complimentary breakfast which ends on 10am as it was around 9.30am. Washed up and rushed over to Seagull Restaurant for breakfast, each of our stomachs were groaning after the alcohol intake earlier. Kim was busy making some calls which eventually missed out the breakfast. We were the last batch of guest that munched into the breakfast buffet, luckily that there were still plenty of food left. It seems that they keep refilling the portions as long there are still ppl around. Credits to Seagull for the dedication made.

Bangkok anyone ?

Finished our breakfast, we went back up to our rooms. Since it was nearing our checkout time. It was best to just relax at Porto Malai and do some packing up. SP decided to venture around Porto Malai for some photoshooting while some of us just lay on bed watching TV xD.

Since there is still some time left, we decided to dip into the pools for some last splashes before leaving. The morning was a real relaxing rest at Porto Malai and also some leisure swim at the pool. We retired from the pool, and resumed packing up. Went over to the reception counter and checked out.

Since our flight back was at 8pm, loaded our stuffs on the Sentra and off we went around Langkawi. It was lunch time, as soon we headed out of Porto Malai. Initially we went over to Underwater World along Jalan Pantai Chenang. We did not enter into Underwater World instead we went over the mall beside for some shopping of cigarettes.

According to Ej, there are more varieties and the price there is a bargain too. After that, our next stop would be Kuah Town for some lunch. We settled on a shoplot restaurant and went for a simple meal before continue our shopping. It was our last day over here, so initially this is where we tear thru all the duty free shops to buy alcohol, cigarettes and chocolates before heading back.

Remember Plaza TSH (Teo Soon Huat) that was mentioned earlier on day1 ? The place was very ideal for chocolate and alcohol shopping. Prices there are reasonably cheap for most of the items and variety is plenty. All of us made our own wallets slim after walking out from Plaza TSH but still it was a great spree. Shopping was done, there were still some time left thus we decided to visit Dataran Lang.

Jetty Point Mall

How could we miss out on the famous Eagle Square (Dataran Lang), the most prominent landmark of the Langkawi island. From afar the main attraction of the square, a magnificent statue of the reddish brown eagle majestically poised for flight. According to local folklore, Langkawi derived its name from the eagle or “helang”. In old Malay, “kawi” denotes reddish brown – hence, Langkawi means reddish brown eagle!

This time around, we missed the Jetty Point Mall which seems like a nice place to shop.Made our way to the near the square and some photo shooting sessions by SP. Found ourselves a cozy spot at Lake Garden just beside Eagle Square where we finish off the leftover beers and snacks. Looking at the vast seas of Langkawi, all of us agreed that this is a really fulfilling trip. It has been awhile since we had a group trip, too bad that not all BBB can join.

Stayed over at Lake Garden until 6 when the sun started to set, drove our way to Langkawi Airport. Handed back the car, did some check in procedures and off we go from Langkawi back to KLIA. Got ourselves into the Limo heading back to our initial destination, Kim's house.

 If was already 9pm when we reached Kim's house, so before we call it a day. All of us went over to a nearby restaurant for dinner. From the looks, all of us were exhausted and after the dinner we parted our ways. And there goes for the 3day trip which was really enjoying although we missed much tourist spots. Maybe a second trip in near future to cover up the missed fun. Till then, let’s keep the travelling spirit Burning !!!^^
