Seafood Crave :: Northport Klang

::27 Feb 2010::

When seafood is mentioned, where else if it is not Port Klang? This time we decided to venture even further to Klang. Wah being our pathfinder of the day with his trustworthy GPS, we started our journey from Cheras and ended up in Restaurant Port Village, Tanjung Harapan, Northport Klang. It was an hour drive from Cheras to Tanjung Harapan, going thru highways and tar roads.

Port Village Restaurant was built on the far end of the pier with woods and stilts with simple decorations. A restaurant that cater good service despite their crowds. We parked our cars on the designated parking lots of the restaurant and walked up the wooden walkway before reaching the main floor with packed tables. Lucky us, we got ourselves a table which faces the seaside which is a great addon for the seafood feast.

Without delay, the aunty is already there to take our order. The first thing that came to our mind was crab ! But to our dismay, aunty said that the crabs all finished for today. Although with dissapointment, we continued our order with other seafood. Cant just drive an hour to Klang and didnt get any seafood at least.

The service was superb and fast. In no time the dishes we ordered came flying in one by one. When rice was served, everyone of us were seen munching our way with various seafoods.

All sapu kaliao ^^ One satisfying meal with a minus point - NO CRABS == but no worries as we will be sure to return again.

Karaoke Session :: CNY2010

::20 February 2010::
It was the 7th day of Chinese New Year which falls on 20th Feb. Previous days, everyone was busy with balik kampung trips and preparations. There is no proper get together for BBB for this 2010 CNY. Thus, we decided to held a karaoke session on 20th where most of the BBB either started working or came back from their hometown and should be free enough to attend xD. After a few confirmations, started to make bookings on GreenBox at Jusco Cheras Selatan. Since i was the one making the bookings on 9pm, reached there alone at 9pm sharp. The pretty counter receptionist then gave me the largest room available there and was numbered as 1 and it comes with its own washroom too.

Since everyone is still on their way. I helped myself with the dinner buffet bundled with the package. After a while, Adrian and Mayes came and tagging along was Adrian's colleague Fai and his gf [Yong]. Great to see newcomers as we always welcome anyone that just wants to enjoy and have fun. Then followed by Bama which i persuaded him to come too xD. Everyone started coming in, then Wah came with another person tagging along. It was SoonMing, our secondary schoolmate which we didn’t meet for quite some years. We did some catchup while others went for the buffet.

Backed up with some food, everyone started selecting appropriate songs to sing. The warm-up rounds and sound testings started. WaiYee reached after that, which she promised to bring along another gal friend but nowhere to be found =_=.

Ej called around 10pm asking if there is still any food left, without hesitation i rushed out at gathered all the leftover buffet as it will be closing on 10.30pm. Mission is a success with two huge plates of food ^^ Ej is on his way after work while David called in again asking about food. Luckily there's two plates lol.

Ej came then followed by David and then the long awaited bro that flew back from Viet came!! It was CK, felt like reunion with a long lost bro haha. Latecomers started munching on the foods while others continue their singing journey. Eventually, jug and bucket of Carlsberg were seen around the tables. According to CK, some alcohol does miracles to open up the singing chords lol.

It was already midnight as time flies by while everyone were singing. SoonMing and WaiYee was the first to go as they were tired and didn’t sing much. Then after a while, Adrian, Mayes, Bama, Fai and his gf also called it a day.

Others decided to last until Greenbox closes on us, eventually Wah gave up and went back just a few mins before GreenBox closes the selection screen. Everyone was crazed and started singing all sorts of songs and laughed our hearts out.

It lasted around 3am and the pretty receptionist invited us to play the spinning fortune to try our luck on CNY. We had a great time with the spinning wheel, but no prizes where won lol. This was basically our first outing on CNY2010 and it went superb. A great start ahead! Happy CNY2010 to everyone!

Reunion Dinner :: Italiannies

::12 February 2010::
Chinese New Year 2010 is nearing and we decided to organize a reunion dinner for BBB. As the actual reunion dinner for Chinese would take place on 13th Feb (one day before the first day of lunar new year). Our reunion dinner would be held one day earlier that is on 12th Feb instead. From there we started to confirm attendance as well to figure out where should we have our dinner at. After some initial meet ups, it was decided to go over to Italiannies for our reunion dinner. Why the non chinese cuisine? No price hike like other chinese restaurants, food quality is compromised and the place would not be as crowded compared to chinese cuisine. Well all in all our purpose is to gather around and do some catching up before the year ends. Nevertheless Italiannies had a 2 course meal promo that seems like a good bargain too. xD

Time decided was 8pm where most of us were already after work and should be able to reach Italiannies at The Curve considering the buffer time for the traffic jam around. Jessica and David were among the early birds arriving at The Curve, they even managed to catch a movie and do some shopping as it was still early. I reckon that they must have their day off or something. Started my journey to The Curve on around 7pm, went to Midvalley to pickup Samantha after her work. It has been quite many years since i met her, did some catching up while on the way to The Curve. Finally reached the parking bay and got lucky as the traffic was smooth all the way. Received call from Wah while i was parking, Wah and JiChen just arrived and got themselves seated. Samantha and i bumped into Jessica at the entrance, we went in and met up with Wah and JiChen. David came after we were seated not long.

Called Adrian and Sico and they will be running abit late. So we decided to order as everyone is already hungry. The orders were random, we just ordered anything which sounds delicious plus we plan to share all the dishes since Italiannies has been known for its generous portion.

On the tables, it is a customary to have bread served with olive oil and vinegar. It seems to be a pre-starter for some hungry souls.Finish ordering our starters, entries and drinks, we started some photo session. Too bad our cameraman didnt bring his DSLR, so we settled with Jessica's digital cam.

Adrian came while we were halfway munching our food. There are still leftovers for him and he ordered some more food as he was hungry. Then came in was Yip, this time no food was left and he had no choice but to order.

While Adrian and Yip were eating, we took our time chatting and talking. It was a great experience as it has been quite some time we didn’t meet Samantha, Jessica and also JiChen.

To our surprise, EJ came after his work. We decided to continue our chats in Italiannies since EJ too didn’t had his dinner yet. Overall it was an enjoyable night and there were so much to talk about.

We left Italiannies only when they are starting to call it a day. Although me, Adrian, JiChen and Yip decided to call it a day. Jessica, David, Wah and Ej went over for some drinking session. As some said, alcohols are always good for digestion xD. Too bad I can’t join in as I need to be back to my hometown the following morning.
